Monday, February 27, 2023: January 24th Tornado and Severe Weather

On January 24, 2023 the City of Deer Park experienced a EF-3 tornado. Jamie Galloway, Deer Park Director of Emergency Services, reported the impacts of the tornado and the emergency response by the city. Rick Deel, Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management Operations Section Chief, shared information about the emergency response from Harris County. Plants reported on their experiences with the tornado/severe weather and lessons learned. Other community organizations were asked how they responded to the event. Frank Marine of Texas Molecular provided an update on their disposal of wastewater from the East Palestine, Ohio railcar fire.
